Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens Brown paper packages tied up with strings These are a few of my favorite things...

I thought it was time I revealed a little more about myself. And after hearing the song 'Favourite Things' which seems to be used on numerous television adverts at the moment, I thought I would tell you blog readers about a few of my favourite things!

  1. I Love Tea. I love having my 5 cups a day (so much easier than 5 fruit & veg a day!), having afternoon tea and of course sampling all the various teas or chai tea lattes. Then there are all the beautiful things tea can be presented in. I love the vintage tea sets, the quirky mugs, funky teapots and tea cosies then the tea urns to store loose leaf tea. Its safe to say I am a tea addict! My favourites are good ol' Yorkshire Tea & Peppermint! I find that Tea Pigs tea bags are the best for a really minty tea. Or what works just as well is the traditional Greek/Turkish mint tea of putting Fresh Mint Leaves in a mug with a spoonful of sugar and pouring boiling water on them! This tea is incredibly detoxing and perfect for eradicating post-meal bloating.
  2. I have a beautiful pooch called Archie. He's my favourite boy and the love of my life. He is quite an excitable pup and never fails to give me a warm and loving welcome - although he can also be a real grouch! He's a Bischon Frise crossed with a Shihtzu and when his fur is long its all curly which makes him cute and adorable!

  3. I love reading. I love all the classic literature and then the modern chick lit! My favorite author of all time is Sophie Kinsella/Madeleine Wickham (although Katie Fforde and Milly Johnson come a close second). I love Sophie's character Becky Bloomwood and find a real affinity with her! I am also auburn, adore shopping and am a bit ditsy - oh and I am also the 'Girl in the Green Scarf!' I find that books are really central to my world. My favourite past time is having my head stuck in a jolly good book and have been relevant to many aspects of my life. For instance, I am named after Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier, my middle name is Jayne after Jane Austin, (I would love to step into the world of Austin) and during my teenage years I felt like Georgia Nicholson though now I have more affinity with Bridget Jones as I am on the hunt for my Mr.Darcy! For any girl who loves books you should watch this video by the Roundhouse about 'Girls Who Read'!

  4. As I said, I am like Becky Bloomwood and love shopping. I feel calmer when I shop. I am addicted to finding new pieces for my ever expanding and ever crammed in wardrobe. In fact, I have so many clothes that I fill both my wardrobe at home and my wardrobe at uni incredibly easily! My favourite shops vary depending on the season and my mood but my love for Zara, Reiss, Hobbs and Primark (for all the basics) never changes!
  5. Another favoured past time is Baking! I recently applied for the next series of Bake Off and was successful in getting to round 3 of the auditions but unfortunately I wasn't selected. This has done nothing to dampen my spirits and passion for baking. I have been baking since being a young child. My Granny made multi-coloured marble cakes with me most weeks! Since then I have progressed through the Be-Ro recipe book and have had a go at baking most things. My unfulfilled baking ambition would definitely have to be a croque em bousche and my 'best bake' would have to be my sisters 15th Alice in Wonderland themed Birthday cake!

  6. Pyjamas. As much as I love all my clothes. My favourite thing to wear still is my pyjamas! I have a large collection of jim-jams and love a good old pj day! I'm relatively new to the 'onesie' trend but that too is fast becoming a favourite piece of attire!

  7. My favourite dessert is, without a shadow of a doubt a huge slice of Lemon Meringue Pie. Although it could also be carrot cake, panna cotta or creme brulee! Although Im more of a savoury girl, I definitely have a sweet tooth! My favourite baked goods are Maid's of Honour, Chocolate Brownie and Shortbread!

  8. My favourite place in the world is wherever my loved ones are. I am incredibly close to my Mum, Sister, Archie and Grandparents and have many beloved friends. This means that as long as I am with them and having a lovely time, I can add a new favourite place to my list! Although top places have to be; Leeds, London, Walberswick, Paris, Thoresby, Clumber Park and Bude.(And I'm sure Rome & NYC will be added to that list after this summer!)

  9. I adore Musicals. I love a sunday afternoon tuned in to BBC Radio 2 and Elaine Paige (with her deligthfully dirty laugh!) My love of musicals stems from my love of acting and performing. I have seen so many over the years that it is incredibly hard to decipher my favourite but I do have a lasting love of Les Miserables, Evita & Blood Brothers. But TBH I love any piece of theatre - particularly a good Shakespeare (especially David Tennant & Catherine Tate's Much Ado About Nothing)!

  10. One of my favourite things is 'Vintage'. Its not really a thing but anything that is vintage I will usually love. I love vintage fashion, jewellery, past times, music and films. I really wish that I could experience some of the amazing past decades. My favourite historic women are Audrey Hepburn, Doris Day, Grace Kelly & of course Marilyn Monroe. My love of vintage means that all period dramas are scheduled into my life!
