So earlier, I hit shuffle on my iTunes while working on my dissertation and guess what track came on...Cyndi Lauper's 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun'. Now I have a diverse taste in music and a girls gotta love classic songs about sisterhood so hey don't blame me for downloading it! This song also perfectly sums up my afternoon...

Since I'm home for the weekend, I spent my morning drinking tea and watching a bit of the Vicar of Dibley before walking the dog and getting on with University work. However this afternoon me and 'the girls' otherwise known as my Sister Charlotte and my Mum headed off to Meadowhall. We were three girls on a mission: To find a grey t shirt and get mum kitted out with new clothes since she's doing well on the 'new year new me diet kick'!
Every time we head to Marks and Spencer, Charlotte and I descend to being kids again. Last time we posed with sponge moustache's and ice lollies. This time, we headed to the home-ware department again and spent time posing on the sofas while our Mum queued up to pay...I did draw the line at hopping into bed though, regardless of how comfy and pretty it looked!
So after a tiny bit of silliness... (you're never too old for a bit of a laugh - its the peter pan & Disneyland syndrome!) We got down to the task in hand and set about finding our Mum a few bits and bobs. She ended up buying 2 lovely shift/shirt style dresses that button up the front as well as a Breton top - which I may have to commandeer! While in M&S I did spot this gorgeous Parisian Cardigan! It got me really excited for my European travels this summer and I am very tempted to purchase it to wear when we head to France.
We then checked out the Zara sale remnants and its sad to say but there is not much left that is worth buying - however they have some gorgeous new season clothes! I spotted a pastel blue (mohair style) coat that was stunning! Then we headed to Primark who are bound to be selling a grey t shirt surely...well none seemed to exist that didn't have bleach pattern specs on it. The same can be said of H&M and New Look. However, in Primark Charlotte joked about with a watermelon sponge! Why are there so many novelty sponges around at the moment!? And I found this gorgeous pink soft furry throw that would look beautiful in my bedroom...(*hint to anyone who fancies treating me!*)
