Being at home has meant lots of home comforts, a warm bedroom and a few little treats from Mummy G! While we were at Meadowhall, my lovely Mum treated me to a few luxury snacks to bring back to Uni with me. I am like all students and eat biscuits and drink plenty of tea while procrastinating and trying to get lots of work done!
Unfortunately I only took a tiny suitcase with me for my adventure back home. This case contained the bare essentials and I was proud that for once I'd managed to pack light - as that never happens. Wherever I end up adventuring too, I always have the hugest case/biggest rucksack! I would say that its a girls prerogative but Han (my housemate) has packing light down to a fine art and I wish I could say I had too... When travelling back to Leeds today, this tiny case was rammed with a whole load of M&S treats as well as a teddy bear to take to Brownies (yes I am a 'Learner' Brown Owl!) and a couple of bits of clothing and my bare essentials make up bag! I was determined not to have to take an extra bag in addition to my case and laptop carry bag and after sitting on the case and shifting my weight about a bit I managed to zip it up. While I was doing this, Archie (my beautiful pooch) decided it was a game to try and get his nose into the case.
Cookies & All Butter Viennese Biscuits.
I am partial to a good cookie and felt that I needed a bit of a chocolate kick this week as I have a busy week ahead. *Note: that one has cherries in - they count as one of my five a day right?!?! These cookies look delicious and just as gooey as Millie's Cookies - without the short shelf life! The All Butter Viennese biscuits are my new addiction. Before Christmas I was addicted to M&S white chocolate wagon wheel style biscuits and yet I have a new love for these Viennese as they were cheaper when I did a quick M&S food run a fortnight ago! They melt in your mouth and are incredibly moreish - it takes all my willpower to resist eating the whole packet! Its safe to say the packets never last that long!
Pretzels.
My Sister pestered my Mum to buy her pretzels over Christmas and we all devoured each bag within a day. Since then I have slowed down on my pretzel eating. However I have eaten many different flavours and brands. BBQ & Sour Cream are quite yummy if you want something other than the original salt. The original style and shape of pretzels are good but these M&S stick pretzels are just sooo much easier to eat and produce less crumb-age when you're scoffing through the bag! I spotted that these pretzels were on Buy One Get One Free this weekend and they just had to be added to the basket. These pretzels are only 99p a bag which is incredibly cheap for pretzels anyway but 2 for 99p is just too good a bargain to miss!
Haribo.
Now my Mum is such a bad influence for buying me these! I have to admit I am a sugar addict. And like all addicts I have been working on curbing my intake - purely out of fear of Diabetes! I have managed to cut the amount of sugars in a cuppa down to 2 and no longer add any to herbal tea. I have also been eating dried cranberries instead of sweeties - which is a huge achievement as I was scoffing a bag a week before Christmas! Once a bag is opened that is it - they have to be eaten in one go...unfortunately that is one of my weaknesses! I can't decide which Haribo flavour is my favourite...Kiddies Mix/Tangfastics/Starmix. Its a tough decision but I adore rings, fizzy cherries and jelly babies out of all the flavours!
THANK YOU MUM!
