The title of this post is intended to be sung in the style of the Kaiser Chief's, Ruby Chorus - which I think is the best musical produce from the beautiful Northern city of Leeds.
I Love Leeds. It is my favourite UK city and I couldn’t be
happier to be attending University here. When my Family suggested a shopping
trip just before term began again, Leeds was our number one choice!

We live near to Meadowhall however Leeds provides us with a
more cosmopolitan day out and the city is beautiful. It also has a more varied
selection of shops, especially now Trinity Shopping Centre is open.
We spent the day mooching round the city and doing a bit of
shopping! I love the Victoria Quarter; it’s a more relaxed and chilled out
version of shopping. With interviews for graduate jobs looming, I spent an age,
fruitlessly trying to find a suit in Reiss. Unfortunately I’m an awkward size
and struggle to find things to fit me on the waist, hips and in the length!
It was the day of the hounds-tooth print as we then went to Hobbs,
where Charlotte bought a gorgeous hounds-tooth print top in the sale. We also
went to Zara, where I bought a hounds-tooth print skirt (which I featured in
the last blog post.)
After working up an appetite browsing the town for the
latest bargains and new season trends, we headed to Jamie’s Italian for a bite
to eat.
I adore Jamie’s Italian and need no excuse to head there
whenever I’m in town. The gold card reward scheme also guarantees good value
for money and the smaller sized pasta dishes are perfect for a light lunch! The
cocktail menu is pretty varied, with Jamie having added a number of twists to
the traditional cocktails. This time I had the Refresher Non-Alcoholic Cocktail
which did exactly what it promised and rehydrated me after the busy morning
about town. The drink consisted of; fresh lemon, elderflower cordial &
cranberry juice, topped with lemonade. Food wise, I ordered the Pumpkin Panzerotti,
which was; pasta filled with roasted squash, ricotta & Parmesan, in a
pumpkin, chilli & rosemary butter with smashed amoretti. The smashed amoretti
added a touch of sweetness and crunch and variety to the dish and I plan on
trying to add it to dishes I cook myself in the future! The pasta was fresh and
made on the day and there is nothing better than ‘homemade’ pasta. I loved the
flavouring of the squash as I particularly love using squash in cooking.
All-in-all we had a lovely day and Leeds & Jamie’s
Italian as always didn’t fail to disappoint!
My OOTD included my standard Zara wool coat that I seem to
live in at the moment. I teamed this with my M&S biker boots and a dress
from Zara. I love this dress, it’s not clingy which makes it feel more casual and
I think the Peter Pan collar is cute. It also has a vintage feel – and a looks
a little bit like a dress I adored when I was seven, although the inside of the
dress reminds me of a sofa cushion. Again, I wore my vintage solid perfume
necklace.
